1. Question: Yes or No - Are you in favour of Alberta leaving Canada?

No, I am not in favour of Alberta leaving Canada. My family has served to protect this country, and I am a proud Canadian. I don’t believe in giving up when things get difficult - we’re better off working through challenges together.
I was proud to take my son with me to sign the Forever Canada petition when he was only seven days old - teaching civic duty and patriotism starts young!

2. I am aware of monthly “on-line” meetings by a group called “Conservative Municipal Councils and School Boards” which had regular input from members of Take-Back Alberta. One focus of the group included training sessions for individuals who wished to run for Municipal Councils. Bearing in mind that I believe there should be separation between religion and politics, my questions to all candidates are;
a) Are you a member of either Conservative Municipal Councils and School Boards or Parents for Choice in Education and/or have you received training from either group as a preparation to become a member of Strathmore Municipal Council?
b) Are you a member of Take Back Alberta?

I can confirm I am not a member or affiliated with any of the organizations you listed, and have not, will not, and would not receive or participate in any “training” they offer.
3. Given the fact that the Villages of Standard, Hussar and Rockyford, as well as the County of Wheatland and the Town of Strathmore have provided letters of support for a new Seniors Lodge and Hospice (https://www.wheatlandhousing.ca/wheatland-lodge-and-hospice-newsletter/) and that statistics suggest 1 in 5 Albertas will be a senior by 2046 (https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/45d8dc72-58d7-4b92-b3e6-589cf1869233/resource/c9785433-07f4-4431-be89-7e43696b909f/download/alberta-population-projections-infographic-2022-2046.pdf) and, finally, that the Wheatland Housing Management Board’s demographic area is estimated to need 400 subsidized spaces in the coming years….
As a Candidate, are you in favour of this project?

Yes, I am in favour of the proposed combined WHMB Senior’s Lodge and WAHS hospice project. This project supports the development of a long-term supply of affordable housing for seniors in the Strathmore and Wheatland region, and helps us achieve my vision of having the right housing at the right time for all residents’ life stages. The partnership with WAHS is logical and forward-thinking, and will ensure our residents have access to dignified end-of-life care close to home.

4. Since it first opened its doors in 2018, the Strathmore Overnight Shelter has been the focus of great discussion. In the last 8 years, the Town of Strathmore has provided financial support (grants) in the amount of approx. $50,000.00 to support the Shelter and to help keep this temporary shelter facility open full time.
Do you support the concept of a temporary shelter facility in our community and do you support using tax dollars to support it?

We are incredibly fortunate to have the Strathmore Overnight Shelter in our community. Beyond being a safe and warm place for folks who have nowhere else to go, it’s also a lifeline for those looking to heal and change their fortunes. This independent organization does not wholly rely on your property tax dollars to operate - a combination of fundraising, grants, and dedicated volunteers makes their work possible.
I am confident in the incredible value of the Overnight Shelter, and believe that the modest investment from the Town to support their work positively contributes to the wellbeing of our community as a whole.
